Dr. Duke Bradley Superintendent

Dr. Duke Bradley, III was sworn is as the Superintendent of the Newton County School System on October 24, 2023. He previously served as Chief of Staff with Henry County Schools in McDonough, Georgia, where he provided leadership and direct oversight over policy, legal compliance, communications, constituent services, and special programs. Prior to his time with Henry County, Dr. Bradley served as Deputy Superintendent and Chief of Schools in Beaufort, South Carolina where he supervised the district's principals and leadership support team. While in Beaufort, Dr. Bradley played a pivotal role in leading the district’s strategy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Bradley was also a senior executive with 3DE Schools by Junior Achievement where he was Vice President of School Leadership and Accountability. Dr. Bradley's work with Junior Achievement led to the launch of new, innovative school models in several schools and school districts across the country including Baltimore County Schools (MD), Los Angeles Unified School District (CA), and Houston Independent School District (TX).

Dr. Bradley is also a former school administrator, having led at every level - elementary, middle, and high school. In 2018, he was recognized by Fulton County Schools (GA) as the district’s overall Principal of the Year where he was credited with leading historic gains in academic achievement and graduation rate while also increasing opportunities for students to access higher level courses. Dr. Bradley also led his school to distinction as the very first STEM certified high school in the 90,000 student district and has been recognized for his innovative leadership, particularly around school turnaround and the facilitation of wraparound services.

Personal

Dr. Bradley is from Columbus, Georgia and is the son of Duke and Sandra Bradley - a retired educator of 35 years. He has one child, a daughter, Brynn.
