He is a graduate of Georgia State University, an alumnus of the Buckhead Business Leadership Class and alumnus of 2013 Leadership Atlanta class. In 2020, Santiago Marquez graduated with a Master's in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame, Mendoza School of Business.
From 2008 - 2020, Marquez served at the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GHCC), having started as the vice president and CFO and worked his way up the organization when he was named president and CEO in 2017. Santiago Marquez has been working in the non-profit sector since 1998. Marquez served as the Director of Employment and Housing for the Latin American Association, starting the first housing department to focus on Hispanics in Atlanta.
He is a proud husband and father.
