GPTC MFA Setup
What is MFA, and Why do We Use It at GPTC?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring two or more verification steps to log in. At GPTC, we use MFA to protect sensitive information, ensure compliance with security standards, and safeguard against unauthorized access. By combining something you know (like a password) with something you have (like a smartphone or authentication app), MFA significantly reduces the risk of cyber threats and keeps your data secure.
Okta Verify Setup
GPTC recommends using the Okta Verify app for a quick setup and convenient push notification-based MFA access.

Troubleshooting Tips
- Check to see if iCloud Private Relay is enabled, as it can affect being able to add Okta Verify to iPhone. Settings -> Tap your name -> iCloud -> Private Relay -> Tap to turn off Private Relay -> Retry Okta Verify steps above
- You may receive a 403 app error if you have a VPN installed. Please turn off the VPN on your phone and try the steps again.
- Suppose your phone does not support Okta Verify due to the latest software versions. In that case, you will need to use an authenticator app like Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator for access.
