FAQs

Who is eligible for Dual Enrollment?

Students in 10th grade with at least a 2.0 GPA are eligible to receive funding for Career Pathways courses. Students in 11th and 12 grade with at least a 2.5 GPA are eligible to receive funding for Academic courses.

How do I know what classes I can take?

Always meet with your counselor to discuss your Dual Enrollment courses. Courses must be approved by your counselor in Georgia Futures before you can register.

Can I change classes?

If you want to change your classes before the semester begins, meet with your counselor to have your new classes approved. You cannot change classes without counselor approval. After the add/drop period, you cannot change classes.

What happens if I want to drop or withdraw from a course?

If you drop a course before the add/drop period ends, the course will not appear on your transcript. If you withdraw from a course after the add/drop period, the course will appear on your transcript as a W and you will not receive funding to take the class again in the future. This also applies to failed classes. Remember to have all schedule changes approved by your counselor.

Will this affect my high school graduation?

Yes, many Dual Enrollment classes on the career academy campus count as both high school credits and college credits! This means you can graduate high school as expected, and gain college credits at the same time. However, low grades will also affect your high school GPA, and cannot be removed after the add/drop period.
