Ready, Step, Leap

Improve your English fluency and/or earn a high school equivalency credential while learning in-demand job skills through our Ready, Step, LEAP initiative. The Ready? Step. LEAP! program gives Adult Education students the opportunity to continue their work toward earning a high school equivalency credential or improving their English language fluency (ESL) while gaining valuable job skills in industry-specific bridge classes at the same time.

Ready

Students who are ready to begin their journey can enroll in classes through the Adult Education Department

  • GED/HiSET classes prepare students to obtain their high school equivalency
  • ESL classes levels 100-600 teach English for life skills, the workplace, civics, and overall fluency

Step

Academic Bridge (ESL specific)

  • Ongoing course for high-level ESL students who want to move on to higher education, such as GED or college
  • Course content includes academic writing, critical thinking skills, and engaging in high-level texts in English

Industry-Related Bridge Classes

  • These courses prepare high-level ESL or GED students for participation in specific career pathway programs
  • Course content is tailored to the specific industry pathway and includes digital literacy and language skills

Cyber Security Fundamentals Pathway

  • CompTIA Network+ and Security+ credentials

Manufacturing Ready Pathway

  • Forklift and OSHA-10 credentials

Certified Nursing Assistant Pathway

  • Certified Nursing Assistant credential

Workplace Literacy Program

  • Digital literary skills for the workplace
  • GeorgiaBEST certificate
